The COVID-19 pandemic has proved to be a source of much innovation across the globe – and Hexion Australia is no exception.
Based in Dardanup in WA’s South West, Hexion’s long-time core business has been to provide products such as fire retardants and dust suppressants to the mining and construction sectors.
But since the onset of COVID, Hexion has pivoted to meet customer needs by also starting to manufacture World Health Organisation-approved hand sanitiser in bulk containers up to 1000 litres.
Hexion Australia General Manager Karen Bailey said the sanitiser was likely to be an ongoing part of the business.
“We noticed our customers were having difficulty in procuring hand sanitiser locally – they were having to get it from Perth or over east and it was taking quite a while to get the product.”
